On September 4, 2023, the remaining suspect who broke containment during the robbery/assault of Carlos Valles was captured in suburban New Orleans, Louisiana. Special Agents and Task Force Officers from the ATF New Orleans Field Division and the United States Marshals Service apprehended the outstanding suspect, Michael LOTT, in a residential neighborhood without further incident. The suspect was taken into custody utilizing the handcuffs belonging to the Carlos.  The suspect will make his initial appearance in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana where he will stand accused of violating numerous federal statutes  associated with the robbery incident.  LOTT was reportedly hours from leaving the State of Louisiana.

Carlos and his family would like to thank all the involved investigative agencies to include, ATF New Orleans Field Division, the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the United States Marshal Service (USMS), the Eastern District of Louisiana United States Attorneys Office (USAO) , New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), Louisiana State Police (LSP), Jefferson Parrish Sheriffs Office (JPSO)and all the first responders that assisted in the apprehension of the final suspect. A special thanks also to the staff at the University Medical Center- New Orleans who have treated and cared for Carlos.
